Just updated my Firefox browser to 2.0.0.17 on my old Mac OS X 10.2.8. Downloaded Weatherbug 2.0.0.4. It shows up in "Add-ons" when I pull down the "Tools" but I can't figure out how to mount it back on my Toolbar like my old version of Weatherbug was. I've restarted Firefox a couple times but it hasn't shown up. Any ideas? Thanks!

i'm not too familiar with php, but i would start with creating a service you can call through javascript to pull in the information that you want to display in the infowindow.

once you have that created, it's a matter of integrating your service with google maps using more javascript.

Yes, Standard devices need soft resets after installing over an old version because of the home screen architecture. Once a home screen layout is loaded there's no way to unload it short of resetting the device.

Glad it's working for you!

                                      Hi,

The download page attempts to determine you BlackBerry OS version so we can install a version of WeatherBug Direct that is specific to your OS. The page was most likely failing to parse this.

I updated to the page to display a choice of OS version.

Please let me know if you have any further issues.

Thanks,
So, unfortunately, it is not an easy issue to solve unless someone out there has a recommendation. Who knows, maybe someday we will embed Chrome or Firefox into the WeatherBug!

That is actually a bit of a problem for me since we are not even allowed to use IE on our work computers for security reasons. I guess I won't tell our IT guys that Weatherbug has IE built in... It would be nice if this could be fixed though. I am sure you create the content so that it doesn't open another IE window but opens in the default browser instead. There's tags for that as far as I know. Since some links open in Firefox it should be possible to have them all do.

Yes, you can turn off these types of alerts from the preferences menu. You need to open up the Weather Alerts Manager tab, then select custom settings. The category you need to disable/silence is the Non-Precipitation Advisory category. I find the best way to do this is to check the active box and then select the Silence All Day (24 hrs) box. I've have seen a few cases where simply leaving the Active box unchecked does not always stop these types of alerts.

There will be a few different alerts under this category. You can find more information at www.weather.gov to get more information on alerts issued by the National Weather Service.
Would like to see future versions of Weather Bug Mobile to show what station data is currently being used when hovering over the Icon on the homepage. I currently have several favorite and switch between them through out the day depending on my current location. Therefore, for a quick reference, it would be nice to see this quickly.

                                      Hi,

The current application (version 0.9.6.6) does not support this functionality but we are always looking to improve the application in the future.
Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I missed your post originally.

Smart alerting adjusts the alert update time in your WeatherBug Direct application based on current weather conditions. You are able to set a default through the advanced settings which will be used in cases were smart alerting doesn't take precedence. Smart alerting will never decrease the alert update interval but may increase the interval for updates when certain alerts are present to keep you more up to date.
At this time, WeatherBug Plus features are only available via the desktop application. The gadget itself links off to our web site. At some we would consider making an advertising free version of our web site.
What specific features are you looking for?
We do have a free version for Blackberry we call WeatherBug Direct. Honestly it is a matter of evolution. We developed the Blackberry App a long time ago. We are always looking at better ways to get our applications out to a wide audience of users.

Here is the link to WeatherBug Direct if you want to try it out:
This worked. As well so my wife could see this in "C", I set that one to "1", all working good now.

Where did this number come from... is it a number someone dreamed up on the USA to represent Canadian cities with US Postal Zip's or what???

Interesting...
